The staff of the Pacemaker Center at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) are committed to providing high quality, follow-up care for pacemaker patients in a friendly and comforting setting. Working in conjunction with each patient’s physician and with the HUMC Electrophysiologists, who read all the reports that are generated, the Center offers a technologically advanced system that assures precise programming and documentation of all devices.

MEET OUR STAFF:
Andrea Florio, R. N.
Nurse Coordinator
Andrea received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Rutgers University. She has been on staff at Hackensack University Medical Center since 1988, holding many positions relating to cardiac services. She began working with pacemaker patients in 1998 and was promoted to Nurse Coordinator of the Pacemaker Center in 2001.
Elizabeth Schneider, R.N.
Staff Nurse
Liz graduated from Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing in 1981. She has spent her entire nursing career as a staff member of Hackensack University Medical Center. Following nursing assignments in units specializing in diabetes, neonatal care and general nursing, she spent 6 years as an I.V. Nurse, which included educating and certifying staff nurses on IV and PICC insertions. She then spent over 5 years on a cardiac/telemetry unit. She began her assignment in the Pacemaker Center in 2001.
Lois Atkinson, C.C.T.
Senior Cardiac Technologist
Lois is a Certified Cardiac Technologist (C.C.T.) who has worked at Hackensack University Medical Center since 1983. She has been working with pacemaker patients since 1985. She began her career in Pennsylvania at Evangelical Community Hospital.
