Hydrotherapy
Wound Care

  • Traditional whirlpool therapy used for wound cleansing and healing
  • May be used in conjunction with dressing changes and other therapies such as exercise

HydroTrack

  • An underwater treadmill used for patients who may be having difficulty walking due to pain and/or weakness of the back and/or legs
  • Provides support or buoyancy of water, massage and resistance benefits of whirlpool jets, as well as the beneficial effects of heat

Lymphedema Program

  • Lymphedema is recognized as excessive swelling of the arms or legs
  • Most commonly associated with surgery where the lymph nodes have been removed (ie: mastectomy)
  • Therapy is performed by a Manual Lymph Drainage Certified clinician
  • Therapy includes Manual Lymph Drainage massage, specialized bandaging techniques, compression garments and patient education (education regarding skin care, precautions, self help, and exercise)

  • Traditional therapies include the use of heat, cold, ultra sound, electrical stimulation, traction, massage and exercise
  • Exercise equipment includes full line of Biodex Equipment, Free Weights, Treadmills, Cybex UBE, Versaclimber

  • Pre-placement screening includes job-specific task performance analysis
  • Post-injury rehabilitation including therapeutic modalities and return-to-work activities
  • Job simulation with the use of Biodex Work Tools & The Work Cube
  • Functional Capacity Evaluations
  • Work closely with Nurse Case Managers

The Spine Center

  • Physical Therapy is offered in conjunction with The Spine Center at Hackensack University Medical Center
  • This multidisciplinary program offers services provided by licensed Physical Therapists skilled in the McKenzie technique
  • Physical Therapy satellite office is located in The Fitness Center in Hackensack University Medical Center’s Hillcrest Building, 60 Second Street, Third Floor, Hackensack

Vestibular Program

  • For patients with balance disorders, inner ear problems, and equilibrium disturbances
  • The Balance Master is a specialized piece of equipment utilized for balance and equilibrium training
  • Patients receive an individualized program including the use of the Balance Master as well as a mat exercise and dynamic exercise program
